As painful as it is to say for most, summer is very much behind us now and fall is coming into full effect. With winter just looming around the corner, it makes it hard to stay outdoors for multiple nights. Lucky for us, services like airbnb exists, with many beautiful and unique residencies up for rent!
Whether you’re visiting from away or just looking to kick back relax a few hours away from home, we believe that our list of getaways is sure to please!
#1. South Shore Riverside Retreat – Petite River, Nova Scotia
This quaint cottage is located alongside the Petite River, just 1 and a half hours from Halifax. Perfect for a fall retreat as it comes with a BBQ, outdoor dining area and a fire pit for those cool autumn evenings. It accommodates 2 and goes for $150 a night.
#2. St. Margaret’s Bay Oceanfront Home – St. Margaret’s Bay, Nova Scotia
This two bedroom executive getaway is right on the water and is only 25 minutes from Halifax and picturesque Peggy’s Cove. It has a 150 square foot rooftop deck (perfect for soaking up rays) and all the amenities of a luxury home. It houses up to 4 people with 2 bedrooms. Here’s our favourite part: it’s only $137 a night!
#3. 1850’s Historical Home – Halifax, Nova Scotia
An old home with a modern twist; recently renovated in downtown Halifax. Perfect for a weekend in the city. This place is a steal as it goes for $76 a night!
#4. Wooded Cottage in Chéticamp – Cape Breton, Nova Scotia
Who wouldn’t want to stay in a cozy cottage in Cape Breton?! It has spectacular views of Lake O’Law and is handy to the Cabot Trail! This cottage accommodates up to 3 people and goes for $150 a night.
#5. PEI Log Cabin – Belfast, PEI
A Quaint little log cabin straight out of the 18th century on the island’s countryside. Who could resist this one? Especially because it’s only $80 a night!
#6. Lakefront Cottage – Cambridge-Narrows, New Brunswick
This family sized 3-bedroom cottage is situated along side Washademoak Lake just east of Fredericton. It goes for $90 a night which is well worth it for a rad getaway to the outdoors.
#7. Point Amour Lighthouse – L‘Anse Amour, Newfoundland
Ok.. so this one may be a bit more pricey than the others. But who wouldn’t want to stay in a lighthouse?! Along the coast of scenic Newfoundland at that. It runs up a price of $324 a night.
Fun fact: This lighthouse is the tallest in Atlantic Canada and second highest in the country! Making it perfect for iceberg spotting. This place should definitely be on your bucket list.
#8. Cozy Gaspe Home – Saint-Georges-de-Malbaie, Québec
Ok, so this isn’t exactly one of the provinces you have in mind when thinking of the east coast, but it’s on the most eastern part of the province. The Gaspe region of Quebec is renowned for it’s scenic view of the Atlantic so who wouldn’t want to pay it a visit?
This home is well prepared for anything you may need for some serious relaxation time. It costs $168 a night and we suggest you grab a local bottle of wine before you stay!
